Fine art photographic print. A Great Basin Rattlesnake in a defensive posture. Before I saw him, I heard his rattle. “Back off!” he was saying. I instantly froze and found him about 10 feet away all coiled up and ready to strike. He was really agitated. Eventually, he crossed the trail and went into a cracked boulder right next to the trail. Even though he was now out of sight, I could hear his rattle echoing from inside the boulder. I was not going to pass the boulder on the trail, so I made a large circle around it in the brush instead.
